From Gust To Volts

My Design

In my final design I have incorporated the use of isotype symbols to represent different parts of the diagram. The diagram shows a world map at the top with the plots of wind farms positioned in the relevant places in accordance to their real location. I them move down to show that wind farms are found out at sea and on the land. Then to the main part of the diagram I show the wind as it pushes the propellers round and round, charging up the generator inside of the body of the wind turbine. The currents are sent down to the transformers and out to the houses in the form of usable electricity.

Information Graphic Influences

I like this information graphic detailing the inside of the wind turbine as there is a clear key system that details the different components of the turbine. allowing the information to be easily interpreted by someone such as myself who knows very little about how the inside of the turbine works.

Here is a piece of information graphics that I think is laid out beautifully to show the pros and cons of wind power. I love the use of only white and green to make the images in this.

Another great example of Information graphics to explain the transport of power through lines .
